"The Truth" What is the difference between the facts and the truth? It is a fact that water is wet, until it evaporates away, The sun is hot, until it explodes cools and turns to gas. These are facts, but the Truth is eternal and forever unchanging. Now as Christians, we know that there is only One God, who manifests Himself in three Persons: The Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. There is only one Scripture book for the Christian: The Old and New Testament called the Holy Bible. Some people in the world would say there are many gods and many scripture Books, but the Truth is, there is only one, and what ever men say differently does not alter what is The Truth. There are many reasons why Jesus came (in the flesh) to this world that He made, so let’s examine just a few. In the world of deceit and lies of which we now live and have been since the world began, Jesus came to bear witness of the "Truth". "Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice" John 18:37. The Scriptures are replete with who and what is the "Truth" and God wants all of Mankind to know it. Most of you know this exceedingly common verse of John 14:6 but it’s worth reviewing again: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. And speaking of the Lord’s will: "Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth" 1^st Timothy 2:4. Another purpose of Jesus’ coming was to allow us to get to know God personally. "And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life" 1^st John 5:20. The Scriptures also declare the Truth of us being in a fallen sinful state, and that we need a Redeemer and that Jesus is our Judge-and Savior. "And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. They understood not that he spake to them of the Father" John 8:23-27. Yes my friends, the Truth is written in the pages of the Bible, yea, the whole of it is true. But when it gets down to the crux of the matter, we need to know only a few things. We are mortal beings who are fallen, sinful and automatically on our way to hell (save infants/small children). We must have faith, hope and trust in the only One qualified to deliver us from our automatic ruination, which is found in the person of the Word of God, named Yahshua or Jesus the Christ of God from Nazareth and Bethlehem. You absolutely must be born again of His Spirit, believe He rose again from the dead on your behalf, renounce your sins and live for God by putting down the sinful deeds of the body, mind and heart. In conclusion, listen to the mighty words and teachings of Jesus in this next passage, so your understanding will be complete. "Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me" John 8:42-46? So my friends, are you of the "Truth"? Are you of Jesus? Do you believe? I was once admonished by a beautiful girl at my workplace, that she wasn’t a believer but she was only a follower of Jesus. I pondered this and came away with the conclusion based on her manner of life, that she may not be born again and is still living for herself and not for Him, in hope of Him, or in obedience to Him. If she "knew" the "Truth", she would not only follow, but Believe.
