"Consider the end results of yielding to Temptation" My beloved,
God gave me a saying years ago, that I never heard anywhere else, so naturally I thought it was exclusive Divine revelation
to me! And although the exact words escape now, He inspired me to think this: "Don’t feel sorry after and repent,
pray before and prevent". As you all know, there are many Biblical examples of the end results of yielding to temptation,
such was that of king David of 2nd Samuel 11:1-5. It reads: "And it came to pass, after the year was expired,
at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed
the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem. And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that
David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself;
and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bath-sheba,
the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite? And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and
he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house. And the woman conceived, and
sent and told David, and said, I am with child". David then called her husband in from the battlefield and tried to cover
his sin by having her husband lay with her, so that the pregnancy would be covered up, but out of honor for his fellow soldiers
in the field, Uriah did not lay with her. So David had him killed by sending him into the hottest part of the battle and then
withdrawing from him. So in the progression of David’s fall we see that king David, first, was not on duty as king and
warrior, but was lounging idly by with nothing but time on his hands at home. And with that, then he lusted, then acted upon
that lust, then committed adultery, then tried to deceive by covering up the pregnancy, then he murdered. All in the name
of the authority of the king was this done, but the authority of the king did not and does not supercede that of God’s
Laws or Authority (Obama/Clinton). Therefore God sent Nathan the prophet to confront David found in 2nd Samuel
12:1-13. And what were the consequences behind all the evil that the king committed? "Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I
will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy
neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing
before all Israel, and before the sun. And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David,
The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die". So what was the gist of his punishment? The Sword: king David’s
son Absalom trying to usurp the kingship of David and wanting to kill him. Evil coming from within his own house. And his
wives being taken away and given to his neighbors. So instead of having a wonderful life with a rich kingdom, David suffered
much trouble both in his house and in his kingdom, because of one incident of burning lust for a woman that wasn’t his,
and for exceeding the authority granted him. Another biblical example of "Considering the end results of yielding to
Temptation" was with Ananias and Sapphira, in the making of covetous decisions, which cost them their lives. So what
examples can we site in the lives of the common American of our own folly and mistakes? The consequences of doing things that
are wrong and sinful follow us all the days of our lives. What happens if one is promiscuous? Perhaps pregnancy and Venereal
disease may result (sinning against our own body), or an abortion. What happens if you take drugs or alcohol? You get sick
or arrested. Or if you don’t eat right, you could get fat or sick. What if you don’t obey the law, you could get
put in jail (if caught). And what about the biggest blunder of them all: What happens if you don’t repent and receive
Jesus and are born again of Him? You go to hell and the lake of fire forever. Think on these things my beloved, because when
the steel trap shuts suddenly, or when the door of opportunity to get right with God passes you by, what will the end result
be for yielding to sinful temptations and wrong lifestyles be but death, hell and the grave.
